Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery
Who loves gin? I actually don’t! I just don’t like the taste but my 5 girlfriends and me went along to the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery tour because they LOVE the gin!
It’s based in Whitchurch which is not too far from Andover area and it was a nice easy drive to get to. Once we pulled up and saw the river I knew we were in for a treat. It’s in such a pretty place! We paid £15 each for the tour which includes the full tour plus a gin cocktail at the end (can have non-alcoholic too if you choose!). So if you think about how much a cocktail is in London, you’ve practically paid for that already!
The tour takes you round the different sections of the distillery showing you each part of how the gin is made. An amazing fact is that EVERY a bottle of Bombay sapphire is made there. So wherever you are in the world drinking it, I’ve seen it made! There are sections where you can smell the ingredients which is amazing because there are so many different types and smells and you straight away know what you like and what you don’t!
There is also a beautiful greenhouse where they grow plants such as lemon peel. The greenhouse overlooks the river and we saw some swans and signets- it was so beautiful! The cocktails at the end of the tour were really big! There is a good amount of options to choose from also! It’s a great place to go for a few hours and there’s also some lovely little shops and pubs in restaurants nearby. I’d definitely recommend going to have a look around whether it be for a date day or to take someone for a birthday present!
